Frank Lampard has taken the first steps to proving there could be life after Chelsea, as the 34-year-old signed a deal with a publisher to write his own series of children?s books.
The midfielder, whose contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of the season, has finally been asked to put pen to paper ? writing a series of books called ?Frankie?s Magic Football? aimed at youngsters aged five and over.
?I first had the idea of Frankie and his Magic Football when reading stories to my own children,? said Lampard.
?Sport and reading are two essentials for us at home, so I decided to make up my own football stories and adventures.
?The characters are loosely based on friends and team mates I?ve played with over the years. I am delighted that Little Brown liked the stories as much as my children and will be publishing the Frankie?s Magic Football series.?
Given the age group Lampard?s books will be targeted at, Metro Sport presume one of his characters is unlikely to be based on John Terry and his numerous adventures, although an evil Mr Abramovich may feature.
